Monday:
  • Students listened to Mrs. Hirzel's Slam Poem 
  • Students paired up and performed their poem to each other for critique
  • Students finished up an group performances not done of Friday
  • If time, students watched slam poetry videos
  • Homework:  Slam poetry reflection and poem due tomorrow


Tuesday-Thursday
  • Poetry Slam Competition
  • Prizes will be awarded on Thursday
  • Food and drink can be brought in Wednesday and Thursday
 
Monday:
  • In Library
  • Students came in with a typed, second draft with all poetic devices labeled (10 points)
  • Students were in the library and completed peer reviews of their poems using the Slam Poetry Peer Review Sheet
  • HW:  Come in with 2-3 questions for Mrs. Hirzel tomorrow

Tuesday:
  • In Library
  • Write a poem that is titled "Lesson Learned"
  • Students continue revising poems and have mini-conferences with Mrs. Hirzel over their slam poem


Wednesday:


Thursday:  
  • Dress Rehearsal for Group Slam Poetry Mini-Project


Friday:
  • Performance of Group Slam Poetry Performance
