Sorry, Mrs. Hirzel has been a little behind in updating her website. Here is what we did last week as a class.
- Teacher lectured using the Beowulf PowerPoint
- Students read The Prologue, Canto 1 and 2 individually
- Teachers and students looked at Grendel PowerPoint to view different interpretations of Grendel
- Students watched a clip of the most modern interpretation of Grendel from the 2007 version of Beowulf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWmiv9uIXQk
- Students were asked to draw Grendel (10 pts)
- Students and Teacher read the rest of Beowulf out loud in textbook as a class.
- Students completed Blue Box Questions for all parts of the poem (either individually or in groups)
- Over the weekend, students were asked to write a reflection on a quote found in Beowulf.
- Students also must have their Independent Reading Book brought in by Wednesday.
