Siddhartha Socratic Seminar Ch. 11-12

In-Class:

• Now that we have finished the book, students and teacher had an in-depth round-circle discussion on major issues of the novel:
  

    -Foreshadowing of Young Siddhartha and Siddhartha's relationship
    -Qualities Young Siddhartha and Siddhartha share
     -Effect of upbringing on characters
    -Discussion of love in the novel
     -General discussion of fondness/disappointment of the novel

HW:

• Students will look at teh four people who have received enlightenment in the novel.  They will be asked to compare and contrast their journeys.
  
• Wednesday/Thursday: Siddhartha Test 
  

      -Wednesday is Multiple Choice/True and False/Fill-In/Short Answer/Matching
      -Thursday is essay questions.  Essays:
            *Choose one chapter and connect it to the Eightfold Path
            *Choose one essential question from the quarter and argue how Siddhartha     answers the question
