2nd Quarter has Commenced!!

Monday:

• Teacher was absent
  
• Students complete the Quarter 2 Initiating Guide as well as a reflection on the past quarter (in same document)
  
• Homework:  Finish Initiating Guide for tomorrow
  

Tuesday-Wednesday:

• Students were handed back their Book Talk and Independent Reading Reflections
  
• Students looked for Independent Reading Books in the Library
• Students took notes on p.1303-1310 in their textbooks (literature sound and sense)...due Friday
  
• Students were assigned their Application Essay Assignment
• Students had individual conferences with Mrs. Hirzel regarding goals for the next quarter and feedback on the class
  
• Homework::  Tragedy/Comedy Notes due Friday, Application Essay Rough Draft Due Friday

Thursday:

• Students were handed out Application Essay Materials: Dos and Don'ts of Application Essay Writing, How to Write a College Application Essay, Choosing an Essay Topic
• Teachers and Students Application Essay Materials
• Had a few more individual conferences
• Students able to work on Tragedy Notes/Application Essays
• Homework::  Tragedy/Comedy Notes due Friday, Application Essay Rough Draft Due Friday
  

Friday:

• Mrs. Smith came in to discuss Application essays
• Teacher and students will peer-review their essays for the last 15 minutes of class
• Homework:  Final Application Essay due Monday
